Iloilo City will see more restrictions eased as the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) downgrades the city to Alert Level 1 until March 15.
This comes after the city met the necessary criteria for de-escalation to Alert Level 1, according to acting presidential spokesperson and presidential communications secretary Martin Andanar.
"The Inter-Agency Task Force on Thursday, March 10, 2022, approved the de-escalation of Iloilo City to Alert Level 1 after meeting the prescribed criteria for de-escalation to Alert Level 1 of the sub-Technical Working Group on Data Analytics," said Andanar in a statement.
This adds Iloilo City to the 39 areas that are under Alert Level 1 until March 15.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said the de-escalation means capacity limits in indoor establishments are removed as well as plastic barriers in restaurants and public utility jeepneys (PUJs).
"We will have 100% capacity in all offices, business establishments, and churches. PUJs and restaurants may take down the plastic or acrylic barriers. Malls may allow children to enter without any requirement. S-Pass will no longer be required," said Treñas on a Facebook post.
"Our compliance officers will make sure face masks are used by our constituents. Let's all make sure our economy is revived while health protocols are observed," he added.
