The P5.268-trillion 2023 national budget will help the administration achieve its commitments, specifically in implementing the Agenda for Prosperity to sustain growth, generate economic activities and jobs, and increase income for Filipinos, according to House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
According to Romualdez, the budget is the most integral and potent tool that the President can use to accomplish the goals of the prosperity roadmap, alongside his economic team and the entire government.
He added that the House of Representatives and the Senate deliberated on and approved President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s first full-year budget proposal "in record time."
The administration's eight-point Socioeconomic Agenda crafted the P5.268-trillion national budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 to transform the national economy towards inclusivity and sustainability for a more prosperous Philippines.
As the President signed the national budget on December 16, Romualdez expressed his gratitude to the members of Congress and executive officials for their cooperation in the early passage of the appropriations bill.
He said that the Department of Budget and Management has enough time to prepare for the fund release in the 2023 budget law.
