The House of Representatives named Quezon 1st District Rep. Wilfrido Mark Enverga as the legislative caretaker of Valenzuela&rsquo;s 1st District.
This comes after newly-appointed Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian <a href="https://dzrh.com.ph/post/rex-gatchalian-resigns-as-valenzuela-rep." target="_blank" rel="noopener">left the post</a>.
Enverga is part of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and the chairman of the House of Committee on Agriculture and Food.&nbsp;He was elected to the House last 2007, took a break in 2016, and returned in 2019.
His appointment was pushed by House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez said that the House will hold a special election allowing Valenzuela City voters to choose their new representative to the chamber.
It was on January 31 when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Valenzuela City Representative <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/rex-gatchalian-takes-oath-as-new-dsdw-secretary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rex Gatchalian as the new Secretary</a> of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
