Senator Risa Hontiveros has declared her plans to request a hold departure order banning Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) pastor Apollo Quiboloy from departing the country amidst a Senate investigation.
In a video statement on Wednesday, January 24, Hontiveros said she would formally write a letter to the justice department asking for the issuance of the order.
"Because we're also looking a the Department of Justice issuing an Immigration lookout bulletin order or hold departure order. Magpapadala ako ng pormal na sulat sa DOJ para sa mga ito," she said.
The Senator urged the religious pastor to present himself before her senate committee once he was ready.
"Kung handa na siya, magpakita na lang siya sa Senado. Siya ang sentro ng mga paratang ng mga biktima kaya siya ang dapat sumagot," she said.
Last Tuesday, January 22, the Senate Committee on women and children, chaired by Hontiveros, moved to issue a subpoena against Quiboloy after his non-attendance in the hearing into the alleged human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse, and violence in KOJC.
"The subpoena has been issued by the Senate committee in the competent exercise of its legal mandate. So Quiboloy, magpakita ka na," the Senator ended.
In December, Hontiveros had forwarded a letter requesting Justice Secretary Crispin 'Boying' Remulla to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order or ILBO.
ILBO helps the government to track a certain individual's arrival and departure from the country.
