Former Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara has expressed willingness to return allegedly misappropriated funds from flood control projects, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla said, as reported by RH Boy Gonzales.
“We did good work today. Meron kaming mga inayos na dokumento, naka-submit kami sa AMLC ng mga dokumentong kinakailangan para mag-freeze sila ng bank accounts,” Remulla said.
“We haven’t gotten to the bottom of everything yet, pero nandyan naman the gesture of restitution is there,” Remulla added, highlighting Alcantara’s cooperation.
Authorities are preparing questions to further probe the matter. “We have to prepare the questions that we want him to answer. Kasi dapat maghohomework din kami based on statements and research on what other things we need…” the Justice Secretary explained.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla affirmed that Alcantara’s involvement in the alleged DPWH irregularities started way back in 2022.
The ongoing inquiry aims to clarify the full extent of alleged anomalies and recover public funds linked to the controversial flood control projects in Bulacan.
