Alice Guo deemed herself as unfit to attend and participate in the Senate hearing on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) today because the exposure and scrutiny she received from the public severely impacted her physical and mental health.

In the letter of explanation addressed to the Committee on Women and Children, Family Relations & Gender Equality, Guo emphasized how her public image and character was tarnished due to the constant humiliation and hatred she received for several months.

Moreover, the motion they filed to reconsider her suspension was denied by the court, adding up to the charges filed against her. She concluded that the public believes her of being guilty, despite the absence of any finding by the courts of law.

Previously, the Office of the Ombudsman placed Guo under a six-month preventive suspension without pay over her alleged ties to POGO operations and her citizenship.
