No bad weather could stop the rallyists from marching toward the Senate of the Philippines in Pasay City, as the scheduled voting on Vice President Sara Duterte's case takes place today, August 6.

Participating in the 'People's March for Accountability' are groups such as Tindig Pilipinas, Akbayan Party, ATOM (August Twenty-One Movement), Kalipunan ng Kilusang Masa, and others. Their message regarding the impeachment case of Duterte is to urge the Supreme Court to reverse its decision and allow the trial of the Vice President to continue.

In an interview, Akbayan President Rafaela David stated that the Supreme Court should consider the numerous public appeals, including the motion for reconsideration from the House of Representatives. She also urged the Senate to take their time when making decisions on this matter.

“Ang panawagan natin sa Senado, huwag naman madaliin ang pagdi-dismiss. Parang nagmamadali silang patakasin si Sara eh.” David said.

She also called on the Senate to remain fair and adhere to the Constitution.

In a report by Noche Cacas, supporters of the Dutertes have started arriving at the main entrance of the Senate. They are only a few steps away from the groups protesting as part of the ‘People’s March for Accountability.’

Earlier several motion for reconsideration from various groups and from the House of Representatives have been filed in the Supreme Court after declaring the Articles of Impeachment as unconstitutional.
