Shortly after BINI issued a statement apologizing for the controversial leaked video, GAT’s Ethan David and internet personality Shawn Castro apologized for their actions, adding that they take full responsibility.
On Thursday evening, Castro uploaded a statement on Instagram stories, apologizing to everyone they hurt, triggered, and offended. He assured that no minor or anyone was hurt in any manner. According to him, “that short video was taken out of context.”
He also mentioned they don’t promote such actions in any way.
“Inaamin po namin na mali kami in so many ways with that joke. Masyado po kaming naging komportable at masaya sa mga ginagawa/sinasabi namin. Hindi po magandang biro yun, especially sa kung pano siya nakita sa nasabing video,” he wrote.
“Maraming salamat po sa pagsabi ng aming mga pagkakamali at aware na po kami sa lahat ng ito. Natuto na po kami sa mga ito at hindi na po ito mauulit,” Castro stated. “Alam din po namin na hindi ito maliit na issue kaya we take accountability and responsibility for everything that was done.”
Ethan David’s statement
Meanwhile, Ethan issued a statement through his talent agency’s Instagram page. The P-pop idol addressed the video featuring him and his friends, adding that he was shown making crude motions as a joke towards another person, and laughing about it.
“I want to begin by saying that I take full responsibility for my actions, and I sincerely apologize for the unnecessary gestures I made. I understand how offensive my actions appeared, and as a person who wants to show only the best of myself, I let everyone down,” he wrote.
"Humihingi po ako ng kapatawaran sa mga nasaktan at nadisappoint sa akin. Nais ko pong ipahayag na malaki po ang respeto ko sa lahat ng tao lalong lalo na sa kababaihan, at anumang napakita kong kamalian sa kumakalat na video ay hindi po sumasailalim sa mga pinahahalagaan ko bilang tao. Hindi na po ito mauulit,” he continued.
Both parties said they will take the time to educate themselves about their behavior and reflect on what happened.

Subsequently, Ethan’s mother commented on the same post, clarifying that the former had never engaged in any relationships involving minors.
“Ethan and I have discussed the recent situation, and I want to be absolutely clear–he has never engaged in any relationships involving minors and has always stood firmly against such behavior, especially concerning serious matters like grooming and SA,” her comment read.
She added that the situation surrounding the issue had been deeply upsetting for Ethan, as he has “consistently condemned such acts.”
“Unfortunately, the video has been taken out of context. I hope this statement helps clarify any concerns,” she said.
“At the same time, my son acknowledges his actions and deeply regrets any unintended consequences. I sincerely hope the public will allow him the space to reflect and grow from this experience. Thank you so much,” she continued.
A few days ago, a video involving BINI members Jhoanna, Stacey, and Colet, as well as David and Castro, went viral after it showed them engaging in a suggestive skit.
