President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has tapped former Department of National Defense (DND) officer-in-charge Carlito Galvez Jr. as the Presidential Adviser on the Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (PAPRU), Malacañang announced on Monday, June 26.
His appointment was part of the list of new appointees posted by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
Galvez previously served as the DND OIC following the resignation of Jose Faustino Jr.
During the administration of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he was also tapped as the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity.
Prior to this assignment, Galvez was the country's Vaccine Czar and National Action Plan vs COVID-19 chief implementer in 2020.
Meanwhile, Isidro Purisima was named as Senior Undersecretary of PAPRU.
The Office of the PAPRU congratulated the appointment of Galvez and Purisima.
Marcos has also appointed several officers in the PCO, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and other government agencies.
