OPM stars lit the Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival stage

The best of the best Original Filipino Music (OPM) artists gathered and lit up the stage of Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival held at the CCP Open Grounds in Pasay City last Saturday, Nov. 11.

The Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival was kicked off by the Filipino electro-pop-rock band Gracenote.

In an interview with DZRH, Gracenote vocalist Eunice Jorge expressed how they were elated to open the music festival.

"Sobrang saya at saka ibang feeling pa rin talaga na mag-open [ng music festival]. Napaka-special no'n para sa amin na mag-open ng show para sa Fusion," she said.

Renowned OPM bands also jammed with the crowd including 6CYCLEMIND, HEY JUNE!, and Pinoy Pop Kings SB19.

"It's exciting to be part of this huge event with different artists," HEY JUNE! bass and back up vocalist Chloe Ballesteros told DZRH in an interview.

Nine-piece folk band Ben&Ben also hit the stage and performed their hit songs "Home", "Paninindigan Kita", "Kathang Isip", and "Pagtingin".

Meanwhile, famed and talented soloists such as KZ Tandingan, Morissette, and Bamboo showcased their powerful voices.

Gloc-9, also known as a blacksmith of words and letters and a true Filipino poet, hit the stage and sang his popular songs "Sirena", "Simpleng Tao", and "Sumayaw ka" that made the audience groove.

Meanwhile, Arthur Nery and Adie serenaded OPM fans with their soulful and angelic voices.

Before the festival kicked off, several bands competed in the pre-show entitled "FREEJAM: Battle of the bands".

Six-piece band PAU bagged the grand winner title and took home a ₱100,000 award.

"It was really really fun. Feeling ko hindi kami makakatulog ngayong gabi after, parang hindi pa rin siya nag si-sink in. Super life core memory," a PAU member said in an interview with DZRH.

Love Radio's Tara Kape Tandem — DJs Robin Sienna and Conyo Bicolano — also brought entertainment for the Fusion audience.

The Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival is the biggest OPM music festival that gathers artist from rock, hiphop, acustic, RnB, and pop.
