Fuel prices expected to climb by up to ₱2/L next week
by Jim Fernandez16 May 2025
Following consecutive weeks of oil price rollbacks, motorists should expect a price hike on Tuesday next week, according to the Department of Energy.
The DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) Assistant Director Rodela Romero, fuel prices may possibly rise accordingly:
Gasoline - ₱0.95 - 1.40/L
Diesel - ₱1.50 - 2.00/L
Kerosene - ₱1.30 - 1.40/L
The expected upwards adjustment in prices is due to the US and China’s agreement to lower tariffs, US sanctions on Iran oil companies, and an anticipated slower oil supply growth, said the DOE-OIMB.
