The price of gasoline and diesel may increase again next week, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
Based on data from the past four trading days of the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS), the following adjustments in petroleum product prices are expected:
-
Gasoline: ₱0.20 per liter
-
Diesel: ₱0.50 per liter
-
Kerosene: No expected change
According to DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau, Assistant Director Rodela Romero, the possible price hike to geopolitical tensions, including Israel’s attack on Doha, Qatar, and Russia’s drone incursion into Polish airspace.
The increase may also be influenced by new U.S. trade opportunities and lower-than-expected oil production from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The projection is based on four days of global market trading and may still change depending on activity in the final trading day this Friday.
These changes will take effect starting Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. This will mark the third consecutive week of fuel processing this month.
