Forensic pathologist Raquel Fortun on Friday revealed that there are several inconsistencies in the autopsy reports of slain drug war victim Kian Delos Santos.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Fortun said her recent re-examination found that the skin of Kian's body was merely cut and not opened.

"They simply did an external examination. They did not re-check the head. They never opened the chest and abdomen because they could not," she said.

In August 2017, the defenseless 17-year-old high school student was shot dead by police officers in Caloocan City.

Following his killing, both officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) conducted their own autopsy.

The PNP earlier reported that there were certain contents found inside Kian's stomach.

But the pathologist questioned these findings.

"How can you tell what is in the stomach if you never opened the trunk? ..... What does that mean of that quality and even integrity on that report? It means you are lying. This reflects not as a report but you as an examiner and the institution itself," she said.

In a separate interview, Fortun revealed that she found a bullet inside the 17-year-old victim's neck which the authorities earlier missed.

"I've always been curious what happened to the bullet because they did not say about the exit wound and I kept thinking that the bullet is still there..... And I found the bullet and there's no autopsy about that," Fortun told ABS-CBN News.

Fortun revealed the findings of her re-examination of the bodies of Kian and 73 other alleged drug war victims, weeks after the International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered the resumption of the probe on the human rights abuses during the Duterte administration's anti-drug campaign.
