The Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters caught fire early yesterday.
At around 6:30 a.m., personnel from the MPD's health department noticed dense smoke pouring from the roof of the Department of the Interior and Local Government building, which is located behind the main MPD building.
According to authorities, a crew of volunteer firemen was the first to arrive, followed by a Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) fire engine and another volunteer group.
The fire was put out at 7:10 a.m., according to the BFP.
