Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Edgardo Aglipay paid tribute to late former Senator Rodolfo Biazon on Saturday, June 17.

Aglipay visited the wake of his senior classmate and commander at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.

In an interview with the reporters, he recalled that when he took part in some anti-coup operations as the provincial commander of Laguna, Biazon was the chief of staff.

Aglipay once served as Laguna's provincial commander and aided Biazon in defending military headquarters Camp Aguinaldo from renegade soldiers in 1989.

According to the ex-PNP chief, aside from his achievements as a military leader, Biazon will be remembered as an "inspiring" alumnus of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).

Biazon was a former member of the PMA's Class of 1961 class while Aglipay was a former member of the PMA's 1971 Matatag Class.

The former Senator died at the age of 88 on June 12, the Philippines' 125th Independence anniversary.
