[DISCONTINUED, LATE AND UNFINISHED] In a grievous "plot twist," singer-actor Darren Espanto found himself in the hospital for appendicitis on Friday, August 9.

Espanto updated his fans via social media that he had been struck with the potentially lethal illness on his flight back to Manila.

"From the airport to the hospital," he wrote in an Instagram story which showed him lying on a hospital bed. "Sabi sainyo, grabeng plot twist nangyari sakin eh (I told you guys, a serious plot twist happened to me)."
