Senatorial candidate JV Ejercito on Tuesday clarified that he is not a part of the senatorial slate of presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Davao Mayor Sara Duterte.

"I am not part of their UniTeam to be clear. Hindi masama maging magkaibigan kahit na iba ang partido," he said in a tweet.

He made the remarks after he posted an image with Marcos to extend his gratitude to the presidential candidate for allowing him to join their sorties.

According to Ejercito, he is under the "uncertain" status of the Marcos-Duterte senatorial slate.

"Even if I am on an 'uncertain' status as you said, thank you for welcoming me to join your sorties," he said in a previous tweet.

"Kahit na hindi ako parte ng Uniteam. Tayo ay matagal ng magkaibigan. Friends beyond politics," he said.

Ejercito is eyeing a senatorial comeback in the upcoming May elections under the Nationalist People's Coalition.

His brother, Jinggoy Estrada, is also planning a Senate comeback and is included in the Marcos-Duterte senatorial slate.
