The early voting hours kicked off at the Silang Central Elementary School on early Monday, May 12, in time for the local and national elections.

Based on RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort’s report, the precinct did not experience any technical errors during the early voting hours on Monday. Most senior citizens were also relaxed and expressed their delight over the implemented early voting hours by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

According to the report, most of the people who voted were farmers. They said it was the first time that they did not struggle and were completely at ease when voting.

Moreover, Comelec Chairman George Garcia assisted some voters in finding their names and designated precincts earlier today. Ricafort also mentioned in her report that before Garcia headed to Indang, Cavite, to vote, he inspected the area and observed the situation in the 14 precincts in Silang Central Elementary School.

Meanwhile, one senior citizen expressed her disappointment, stating that she had a difficult time finding her name on the list. According to the report, Garcia earlier mentioned that some senior citizens struggled to find their names on the list because of the different precinct clustering.

This was because some areas had a small number of voters, and was therefore combined with other polling places.

“Naulan-ulan dito ngayon. Nagpunta na ako sa kabila, tinuro ako dito. Pag dating ko dito sa pangalawa, hindi pa rin niya nahahanap ng mabuti, ituturo nanaman ako doon. Kaya ako nainis,” a 72-year-old resident said, expressing that she went back and forth in the precincts because she cannot find her name in the voters list.

“[Kung] ako lang naman, hanapin nila ng mabuti [yung pangalan ko] bago sila magsalita na wala,” she added.

Earlier today, Ricafort reported that Garcia conducted an inspection in the area before the early voting hours began.
