Vice President Sara Durterte was designated as the new officer-in-charge (OIC) while President Ferdinand “Bongbong“ Marcos Jr. is on his state visits to Indonesia and Singapore from Sept. 4 to 7.

Special order no. 75 signed by Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez released on Sunday, states that Duterte as the OIC must “take care of the day-to-day operations in the Office of the President“ and “oversee the general administration of the Executive Department.“

It stated that the Vice President can “act for and behalf of the President “ if necessary, except on the “matters that the President is required by the Constitution to act in person during this time that the President is outside the Republic of the Philippines from 04 - 07 September 2022.“

Duterte must be assisted by all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the government, the order said.

“All acts of the Vice President for and on behalf of the President pursuant to this Order shall be deemed acts of the President unless disapproved or reprobated by the President,“ the order further stated.

Marcos arrived in Indonesia on Sunday, Sept. 4 and he will stay in the said country until Sept. 6. He was invited by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

After his visit to Indonesia, Marcos will be heading to Singapore from Sept. 6 to 7, upon the invitation of Singaporean President Halimah Yacob.

Marcos is expected to discuss bilateral relations and global issues and sign several key agreements during the two state visits.
