Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte on Tuesday said they are targeting the pilot implementation of the revised senior high school (SHS) curriculum by the next school year.
"Ang target pilot natin for the senior high school curriculum is next year, next school year, so that’s School Year 2025 to 2026 pa,” Duterte told reporters on the sidelines of the Chinese Filipino Business Club’s 13th Biennial National Convention at The Manila Hotel.
The Education Secretary stressed that the revised curriculum for Grades 11 and 12 is still under "review" in a bid to produce more job-ready and responsible graduates.
This comes amid the implementation of the 'MATATAG' curriculum.
In September 2023, DepEd kicked off the implementation of the revised K–10 program to at least 35 participating schools in the seven regions that were chosen for the pilot testing.
It will be taught next to Grades 2, 5, and 8 learners in SY 2025-2026; Grades 3, 6, and 9 in SY 2026-2027; and Grade 10 in SY 2027-2028.
