The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured that there will be no price increase in basic goods until the end of 2023.&nbsp;
According to Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, manufacturers have agreed to prevent any plan to higher prices of the products and confirmed that six manufacturers asked for higher prices for the products but their office had withdrawn it.&nbsp;
Due to this, market goods will remain at current prices for the remaining months of 2023.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Trade Assistant Secretary and Consumer Protection Group Officer in Charge (OIC) Mary Jean Pacheco said that six manufacturers who withdrew the request for the price increase are the suppliers of bottled water, condiments, bread, salt, sardines, and toilet soap.
