A few months after Iya and Drew Arellano welcomed their baby number 5, Drew decided to get a vasectomy.
On Monday, Drew posted a photo of himself post-surgery from getting a vasectomy, greeting Iya a happy late and advanced Mother’s Day. He added the hashtag, HappyVA-SEC-TO-MEE, and snip snip in the caption.

Meanwhile, Iya congratulated her husband in her Instagram stories, with the text, “still groggy” and drew singing “happyva-sec-to-mee” in the tune of “happy birthday.”
In a separate story, Iya wrote, “Late” coz this was supposed to happen last year pa and then Anya happened so this time he made sure.”
According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), a vasectomy is a surgical procedure that acts as birth control in men, which stops sperm from leaving the body. It involves cutting the tubes (vas deferens) that carry the sperm from the testicles.
It is usually performed by a urologist, a doctor specializing in the male urinary tract and reproductive system.
Drew’s post was flooded with support and praise, describing him as a great man to his wife and a good example to others. According to one comment, the former saved Iya from several negative and painful effects of birth control.
The television personality did not just receive support from his followers, but also from his friends and fellow celebrities.
Iza Calzado cheered the celebrity on and thanked Drew for sharing his personal choice.
Carla Abellana applauded Drew and said that men should follow him as an example.
Meanwhile, Camille Prats and Saab Magalona expressed their delight for Drew, expressing how proud they are.
Iya and Drew have been married since 2014, and have five children: Primo, Leon, Alana, Astro, and Anya.
