Former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos firmly stated on Tuesday that his successor is qualified to lead the crucial agency.
In an interview during Dos Por Dos, Abalos confirmed that he has officially resigned as the DILG chief and prefers that the President announce his replacement.
Abalos noted that his successor would take an oath today.
It can be recalled that on Monday, Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla announced that his younger brother, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, would be sworn in as the new DILG Secretary on Tuesday.
"Ang masasabi ko lang, tama naman [sinabi ni Sec. Boying Remulla] sa papalit sa akin," Abalos said.
"Magaling ang papalit sa akin, magaling na tao. Tingin ko naman kayang kaya niya po ang trabaho," he added.
Abalos filed his Certificate of Candidacy on Monday for a senatorial post.
