The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office acquitted the big boss of Double Dragon Properties Corp. from the estafa case related to a P3 million real estate tax complaint.
According to the prosecution, they found no probable cause against the directors and officers of Double Dragon but found evidence to charge the owners of the company with theft and recommended P66,000 bail each.
Involved in the case are Atty. Joselito Barrera Jr., Edgard Sia III, Tony Tan Caktiong, Ferdinand Sia, Rizza Marie Joy Sia, William Tan Untiong, Joseph Tan Untiong, Gary Cheng, and Vicente Perez Jr.
This is oriented more toward the P3 million real estate tax charged by Double Dragon to some of their clients from 2018 to this year, but the company has not paid the Quezon City Government.
Meanwhile, Double Dragon paid the real property taxes of five units on March 3 and 31 this year, or almost four years after receiving the full payment from the complaints on October 22, 2019.
It cost a total of P416,000, lower than the P3 billion that they were obliged to pay for the complaints.
