The Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed the dismissal of one complaint of illegal possession of firearms and unlawful possession of explosives filed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) against Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr.

According to the resolution issued by the department on Friday, the complaint does not have enough evidence and Teves 'is not a proper subject for inquest since he was not arrested during the implementation of the search'.

"Considering that there is no enough evidence to proceed to a regular preliminary investigation with regard to him, the complaint against respondent Teves is dismissed," the resolution read.

It was signed by Prosecution Attorney Victor G. Dalanao Jr. and approved by Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Richard Anthony D. Fadullon.

Teves, however, with his two sons, still faces seven other complaints for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.

This was after the authorities raided at least five houses allegedly belonging to the Negros Oriental representative and seized several guns and bullets.
