The Department of Health-Central Luzon (DOH-Central Luzon) has logged 1,027 new COVID-19 cases in the region.
In a statement, DOH-Central Luzon said that the new cases were recorded from May 14 to May 20.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Five of these cases are considered severe and critical cases with Zero deaths verified during the past week,&rdquo; it said.
Despite the COVID-19 increase, the department noted that the number of Intensive Care Units (ICU) beds remained low at 9% and the non-ICU beds at 18%.
Meanwhile, DOH-Central Luzon is reminding the public to continuously practice the minimum public health standards such as washing of hands, adhere to isolation protocols, and getting their COVID-19 vaccines.
It also encourages them to&nbsp; observe physical distance and wearing of face masks in public and crowded places.&nbsp;
