The public received a warning from the Department of Health on Wednesday against spreading of fake information regarding Omicron XBB subvariant symptoms.
The DOH said that the public should be cautious of the messages they receive through texts and social media, citing DOH Memorandum No. 2022-0578 which intensifies surveillance activities amidst a fresh surge of coronavirus disease in China.
Moreover, the DOH explained that COVID-19, in general, shows symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, headache, body pain, and diarrhea.
The agency encouraged the public to still ask for consultation from the doctors or go to the nearest health facility for a proper diagnosis of symptoms.
Meanwhile, the public gets advised to continue observing proper sanitation, masking, distancing, good ventilation, and vaccination.
The DOH also urged people to believe in information from legitimate sources and platforms.
