The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, February 19, warned the public against fake posts online claiming to be endorsed by the health department.
“The DOH reiterates that any such endorsements are fake, misleading, and unauthorized by the Department or any of its affiliate organizations,” it said in a statement. “The Department does not engage in the promotion or endorsement of specific brands or commercial products.”
The health department said it would press criminal charges if related endorsement posts claiming to be advertised and approved by the department would persist.
“The DOH continues to enjoin the public to source information only from legitimate sources and platforms, such as the health department, which can be accessed through the links and social media handles below,” it added.
The DOH earlier cautioned the public against a Facebook page using the department’s name to endorse powdered milk.
