The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) also seeks answers to questions raised regarding the citizenship of Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo.
Guo has been in the hot seat since she has been linked to two Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) that authorities raided last February and March in Tarlac.
An investigation by the Senate also raised more questions regarding the background of Guo and brought forth suspicions that she might be a Chinese spy.
"Pinapakuha ko yung records niya, lahat ng tungkol dito. Pinapa-imbestigahan natin pati kung saan siya pinanganak, kung sino yung mga kaklase niya," DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos said on Wednesday, May 22, during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
During the hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality last May 7, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who chairs the panel, bared that Guo does not have a hospital record of birth and no school records in the Philippines.
Guo explained that she earned her education by being homeschooled from grade school until high school, and admitted that she also did not go to college.
The certificate of live birth of Guo also identifies her father, Angelito Guo, as a Filipino national but the mayor said that her father is half-Chinese and half-Filipino while business records show that the name of her father is 'Jian Zhong Guo', a Chinese national.
