Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla said on Saturday that the government has not received any red notice from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) against Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa in connection with the reported arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“As of one hour ago, the Center for Transnational Crimes has not received a red notice against Senator Dela Rosa. We cannot comment in the absence of an actionable document,” Remulla said in a text message to DZRH.

The statement followed the announcement of Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla in DZRH's Executive Session, who claimed that an ICC arrest warrant had been issued against the senator.

In a follow-up statement posted on Facebook, the DILG reiterated that there is currently "no actionable document" from the ICC regarding the alleged warrant of arrest for Dela Rosa.

“As of 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, the Center for Transnational Crimes has not received any red notice,” the department stated.

The DILG added that it remains focused on recovery operations in Cebu and on preemptive measures for the possible impact of Typhoon Uwan.

“The DILG is currently focused on ongoing recovery operations in Cebu and on preemptive measures in preparation for the impact of Typhoon Uwan,” the statement read.

Dela Rosa, who headed the Philippine National Police during the Duterte administration, was a key figure in the controversial anti-drug campaign, which has been linked to alleged crimes against humanity.

These same allegations also formed the basis for the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant against former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands.
