Various government agencies will work together to ensure the success of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act.
Agrarian Reform Sec. Conrad Estrella III said on Wednesday, July 12, that his department and the Department of Agriculture will provide support services to the beneficiaries of Republic Act No. 11953.
Estrella also disclosed that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), with the Philippine National Police (PNP), will help address the problems of agrarian reform beneficiaries with landowners.
Meron pang resistance," Estrella said during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime.
The DAR chief also thanked Interior and Local Government Sec. Benjamin Abalos Jr. for the work of DILG as a member of the Presidential Agrarian Reform Council.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed RA 11953, which seeks to free agrarian reform beneficiaries from debt, on July 7 during a ceremony in Malacanang.
The law condones all principal loans, unpaid amortizations, and interests, and exempts payment of estate tax on agricultural lands awarded under Presidential Decree 27, RA 6657, and RA 9700.
