The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has successfully produced all the backlogged plate numbers for motor vehicles from 2014 to 2023.
According to the LTO, the completion of this production was made possible due to the budget allocation provided under the leadership of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
When the Marcos Administration took over, there was a backlog of around 11 to 12 million plate numbers that needed to be produced, and these plates are currently in the distribution phase.
Stop, Plate, and Go
To address this issue, the LTO launched the “Stop, Plate, Go” program. This initiative involves deploying LTO enforcers in areas with high vehicle traffic to assist motorists who have not yet received their plate numbers. These enforcers can also issue and install license plates on the spot if they are already available.
Efforts to distribute the plates are ramping up, with events planned in busy locations such as shopping mall parking lots and PEZA zones.
Additionally, drivers can check the availability of their license plates using the LTO Tracker, which is accessible through the eGov app.
