The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday, Oct. 23, distanced itself from Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro Locsin Jr.’s controversial post regarding Palestinian children.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines completely disassociates itself from the statement made on Twitter by Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.,” DFA Spokesperson Teresita Daza told reporters.
“Such statement was made in his strictly personal capacity,” Daza added.
In a now-deleted controversial post on X (formerly Twitter), Locsin said, "That's why Palestinian children should be killed; they might grow up to become as gullible as innocent Palestinians letting Hamas launch rockets at Israel; not that they could stop them but that's no excuse."
“They are Muslims. They could stage mass suicide attacks against Hamas until the latter ran out of bullets,” the former foreign secretary added.
According to an Al Jazeera report, the death toll following Israel-Hamas conflict reached to thousands of people having been reportedly injured and killed.
