Out of the highest score of 10, presidential aspirant Leody De Guzman gave President Rodrigo Duterte and the current administration a low score of three when it comes to its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Gusto ko sabihing palpak, pero three, pwede na siguro. Three 'yung grado ng pangulo," he said in the Bakit Ikaw: The DZRH Presidential Job Interview.
(I want to say that it failed, but three, that will do. Three is the grade of the president.)
"Three dahil sabit eh, sabit yung approach," he added.
(Three because there were lapses in the approach.)
De Guzman pointed out the administration's move to mobilize the military during lockdowns instead of medical workers when the pandemic happened.
"Hindi naging scientific, medically yung pag-approach na dapat mga expert sa virus yung iniharap," he said.
(The approach was not scientific, medical where virus experts are on the frontlines.)
The presidential aspirant also lamented about the government's spending and procurement, which he said just went to the pockets of Pharmally and government officials.
"Yung ang nakakasakit, nasa gitna na nga ng krisis, maraming namamatay, maraming naoospital, nagagawa pa ng mga taong ito na pagnakawan yung perang dapat sana ay magagamit para labanan ang COVID," he said.
(That is what hurts, we are in the middle of a crisis, many are dying, many are getting hospitalized, and then these people can still steal the money that should have been used to fight COVID.)
