Reflecting on Alas Pilipinas women’s historic bronze medal finish at the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup, Dawn Catindig attributed their success to having “the right people at the right time.”
The standout libero emphasized the critical role of modernization and technical advancements in volleyball.
“For me, the biggest difference is yung ‘the right people was there at the right time’ kasi with volleyball modernizing every year, as in ang bilis mag-level up ng volleyball, we have to keep up,” she said in an exclusive interview with DZRHTV.
The 28-year-old player highlighted the importance of data analytics, extensive research, and advanced tactics in today’s game.
“Talagang kailangan na ng mga data, mga pag-aaral talaga, tactics, very technical na ang volleyball ngayon. Kaya we have to keep up talaga. Kaya ang iniisip lang naming player ay maglaro, wala kaming ibang iniisip nung AVC na ‘to,” she added, underscoring the players' focus and dedication during the tournament.
Alas Pilipinas secured a podium finish in the 2024 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women after dominating Australia, 25-23, 25-15, 25-7, in the bronze medal match.
Building on this momentum, the entire Alas Pilipinas team has embarked on a journey to South Korea for a friendly match against the renowned Korean team, Powerful Daegu.
