The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the Saturday fire that razed at 1:05 p.m. in Purok 8-A, Barangay 21-C destroyed an estimated PHP9 million in the property.

According to Davao City Fire District spokesperson Senior Fire Officer 4 Ramil Gillado, at least 1,200 houses were destroyed and the cause is still being investigated.

Gillado told that they have been verifying and conducting an investigation, as well as assessing reports that there were children burning some wires in the area to get bronze in it and will sell them.

Meanwhile, no casualties were recorded in the incident, and the city government already set up donation drop-off points for those who want to send assistance to the victims.
