DOH: COVID-19 cases drop amidst Christmas celebration

The Department of Health (DOH) said that cases during Christmas celebrations have dropped despite the increase in public gatherings and events.
In its latest COVID-19 bulletin, there were 5,690 new cases recorded from December 19 to 25, with an average of 813 cases daily, which is 25% lower than recorded cases from December 12 to 18.
Among new cases, there were 3 who are in critical condition.
On Christmas day, 516 individuals in critical condition were admitted to hospitals due to the virus.
Meanwhile, more than 73 million individuals, or 94.44% of the target population were vaccinated against COVID-19 — 21 million individuals have already received booster shots.
