The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday, April 8, flagged down the convoy of former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson after passing through the exclusive EDSA carousel bus lane.
According to RH 5 Val Gonzales' report on DZRH's Damdaming Bayan, MMDA strike force personnel stopped Singson's black armored car and companion vehicle and issued a traffic violation ticket.
The former Ilocos Sur governor reportedly paid Php5,000 each for the black armored car and companion vehicle. The said amount is the corresponding fine to a first offense.

In an interview with DZRH, Singson denied they intentionally pass through the EDSA lane exclusively for the carousel bus.
The Ilocos Sur governor assured that he did not use his power and willingly paid the fines.
He acknowledged the violation and expressed remorse for committing it.
Hindi kami dapat nag-overtake," Singson said.
