The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday disowned a circulating "Transparency Survey" that sought the trust approval rating of Pasig City executives for November and December 2021.
The said survey was labeled "SWS Survey Trust Approval Rating," which was allegedly conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) PasigPH Chapter and sourced from the Comelec-Philippines Transparency Survey.
It showed Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto for having a 52% trust rating, Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho with 47%, and an undecided one percent.
But in a statement on Tuesday, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said the commission did not participate in the said survey and it is not verified with the SWS.
"The COMELEC has not commissioned or participated in any 'Transparency Survey.' Nor have I been able to verify this infographic's authenticity, with the SWS," said Jimenez on a tweet.

Sotto reposted the tweet on Tuesday and said other surveys for vice mayor, congressman, and council were also fake
"COMELEC spokesperson na po ang nagsabi ha. Fake din po 'yung ganitong survey para sa VM, Cong, at Konsehal," he said on Facebook.
(The COMELEC spokesperson has spoken. The survey for VM, Cong, and Councilor are also fake.)
"Gagawa na lang sila ng fake survey, di pa nila pinalamang yung kandidato nila," he added.
(They will come up with a fake survey but still won’t put their candidates ahead.)
The Pasig mayor urged the public to be vigilant and proactive amid the spread of fake news.
"Dumadami ang fake news. Maging mapanuri. Kailangan proactive tayo laban dito."
(Fake news are growing. Be vigilant. We need to be proactive against this.)
