Kapamilya actor Coco Martin and the production team of ABS-CBN's upcoming series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” joined the thousand devotees during the feast of Black Nazarene on Monday.
In the behind-the-scenes clip uploaded on Youtube, Coco and the production team were seen wearing maroon long sleeves with the Black Nazarene’s image imprinted on them.
Coco, who is a long-time devotee of the Black Nazarene, shared that they took part in the festivities to start the taping of "Batang Quiapo."
"Gumising talaga kami ng maaga para ma-cover namin at masaksihan namin 'yung tunay na nangyayari ngayon sa piyesta ng Poon," he said.
Directors Vince Gaite and Kevin De Vela expressed their excitement for the TV series.
“Lord, Thank you! Grabe successful itong ginawa namin. Live coverage ang inuna namin. Sobrang nakaka-excite. Sobrang daming tao. Abangan niyo,” Gaite shared.
"Excited kasi gumawa na naman kami ng isang proyekto para sa mga tao at para sa mga fans ng 'Ang Probinsyano.' Sa 'Batang Quiapo', marami kayong aabangan. Tignan niyo naman, live 'yung mga ginagawa naming set. Kung saan merong tao, doon kami nakadikit. Kung saan talaga 'yung location, doon kami pupunta,” De Vela said.
In December last year, ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape Entertainment unveiled that Coco and Lovi Poe will star in another Fernando Poe Jr. series adaptation.
The original “Batang Quiapo” was released in 1986. It is an action-comedy film starring 'Da King' FPJ and his leading lady Maricel Soriano.
