

Filipino American actress, Liza Lapira is the new voice of Disgust in the sequel to the Academy Award-winning Best Animated Feature of 2015, “Inside Out. “
Born in Queens, New York to Filipino parents from Baguio, Lapira was first known for her roles in Dante Basco’s directorial debut film “The Fabulous Filipino Brothers” and as Melody Bayani in “The Equalizer.”
She is one of the first Filipino celebrities to play a significant role in a Pixar film, amidst her constant reappearances in tv shows and films the past years. The actress was delighted by how the public considers her role as a huge win for Fil-Am representation in Hollywood, as it may open new opportunities for aspiring artists in the industry.
Moreover, as a huge Pixar fan, Lapira was full of excitement being one of the core emotions in the film; Even stating how emotions are neither good nor bad, but exist to protect people.
"Fear and Disgust protect you from actual danger. Anxiety helps you prepare. Anger is good because we would never have any justice or revolutions if you didn't have any righteous anger," the actress stated in an interview with ABC-CBN News.
Inside Out 2 premiered nationwide last June 12, and currently holds the biggest film opening day of all time for an animated film in the Philippines.
