The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that the plane parts found near Mayon Volcano on Sunday is the missing Cessna plane 340.
In a media advisory on Monday, CAAP stated that the Cessna 340 iarcraft has been identified at the wreckage site, after few attempts to reach the location despite weather disturbances.
The wreckage is located at an elevation of 3500-4000 feet on the west side slope of Mayon Volcano.
A high-resolution camera was used to identify the wreckage, it added.
The crew and passengers' conditions are unknown as of now since the SAR team has yet to reach the exact location due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, the SAR team attempted three times earlier today, but were unable to reach the wreckage due to high winds in the area. During the operations, the SAR team used a Philippine Air Force (PAF) Black Hawk helicopter and a Philippine Navy AW109 aircraft.
According to the CAAP Aviation Records Management Division (ARMD) database, Textron Aviation (formerly Cessna) has 151 CAAP-registered aircraft.
The missing Cessna aircraft, operated by the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), is airworthiness certified by CAAP.
