The Caloocan City Police Station has one week to investigate the grenade attack on the office of the Northern Police District - Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DEU) last Saturday, May 20.
PMGen. Edgar Alan Okubo, director of the National Capital Region Police Office, condemned the incident.
Okubo gave the Caloocan Police Station one week to investigate and identify the perpetrators of the said grenade attack.
"Bagama’t walang nasugatan sa nasabing insidente, importanteng malaman natin kung sino ang may kagagawan nito at kung ano ang kanilang motibo," Okubo said on Monday, May 22, in a statement.
"Hindi natin pahihintulutan ang mga indibidwal na ito na magdulot ng sakuna laban sa kaligtasan at seguridad lalo na sa ating mga nasasakupan," he added.
The NCRPO chief also ordered the relief of PLtCol Michael Chavez, chief of the NPD-DDEU; PMaj Dennis Odtuhan, assistant chief of the NPD-DDEU; and PCapt. Ivan Rinquejo, commander of Substation 4, to give way for a thorough investigation.
Ohkubo, meanwhile, urged the public to cooperate and share any information that could hasten the resolution of the case.
"Anumang impormasyon ang inyong maibibigay ay malaking tulong sa agarang pagkakalutas at pagkakahuli ng mga taong may kinalaman dito," the NCRPO director said.
"Makakaasa ang ating mga kababayan na sa kabila ng mga ganitong banta ay hindi natitinag ang inyong NCRPO sa aming layuning ipatupad ang batas at patuloy kaming magsisilbi upang matiyak ang kapanatagan at kapayapaan sa kalakhang Maynila," he added.
