

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Saturday, June 4, that the regional wage boards approved a minimum wage increase in CALABARZON and Davao Region.
DOLE Sec. Silvester Bello III said that private sector employees in CALABARZON will receive an additional salary of Php 47 to Php 92, while workers in Davao Region will benefit from at least a Php 47 increase in the minimum wage.
Wage Order RBIV-A sets the minimum wage for those in the non-agriculture sector in CALABARZON between Php 470 down to Php 390, and in the agriculture sector between Php 429 down to Php 350.
The wage board, meanwhile, set the minimum wage in retail and service establishments employing not more than 10 workers to Php 350 from the previous Php 303.
DOLE said that the wage increase will take effect in two tranches.
Meanwhile, in Davao City, the minimum wage rates will increase to Php 438 from Php 391 in the agriculture sector, to Php 443 from Php 396 in the non-agriculture sector, and to Php 443 from Php 381 in retail/service establishments employing not more than 10 workers.
The wage board also set the new monthly wage rate for domestic workers to P4,500 or a monthly wage increase of P1,500 and P2,500 for chartered cities and first-class municipalities and other municipalities, respectively.
