BTS’ Jungkook penned a heartfelt letter on South Korean mobile application Weverse for ARMYs, the K-pop boy group’s fandom name, following their enlistment announcement.

“Dear ARMYS, it’s already the end of November. It’s very windy. I’m sure you all know, so I’m writing a short letter to you,” Jungkook said.

“In December, I will start a new journey. I’m leaving you for a while to serve in the military. As I share this news, I feel heavy on one hand, and on the other hand, I’m reminded of precious memories with ARMY, so my heart warms up,” he added.

BigHit Music earlier stated that Jungkook along with RM, Jimin, and V have started the process of their military enlistment service.

The group’s music label did not mention a specific date when the four would enter the military, but Jungkook’s letter hints he will begin his military enlistment this December.

“Every moment I’ve spent with you has been the brightest time of my life. ARMY’s laughter, support, and love led me to this point. Thank you so much for supporting my dream and walking with me silently,” the golden maknae said.

“I’m careful to tell you to wait for me while I’m in the military. A year and a half is a long time, so I can’t say anything selfish. I promise that I’ll be back on stage with a more mature side where I always am,” he added.

BTS is reported to convene again as a group in 2025.

“I hope ARMY’s lives will always be full of laughter and happiness. I hope you fill in ARMY’s daily life healthily and beautifully. I’ll miss you deeply while waiting for the day we meet again and talk about something new. Don’t get sick and stay healthy. I love you,” Jungkook said.

The 26-year-old singer recently released his solo album “GOLDEN”, with his main track “Standing Next to You.”

Three BTS members—Jin, J-Hope, and Suga—have started serving in the military in December 2022, April 2023, and September 2023, respectively.
