Bren Esports, a renowned name in Philippine esports, has undergone a transition with Aces Pro Corp taking over the team, now known as AP Bren.
With notable achievements like being the first Philippine team to secure victory in the M-series of Mobile Legends Professional League in 2021 and claiming the gold medal for Mobile Legends at the recent 2023 Southeast Asian Games as part of the SIBOL Men's National Team, this iconic esports organization is determined to push even further.
Leading Aces Pro Corp. is Jean Alphonse "AJ" Ponce, an entrepreneur and Provincial Board Member of the 1st District Province of Cagayan.
As a passionate esports enthusiast, Ponce has already established various brands, such as "Tambay TV League," and has managed amateur ML Teams under AP Esports.
Apart from esports, he also boasts an extensive portfolio spanning agriculture and real estate.
Aces Pro Corp., an emerging organization in the esports industry, has a vision of nurturing the next generation of esports stars by implementing comprehensive training programs and adhering to operational best practices.
"The rebrand enables the team to move forward from the organizational challenges of 2023 and perform significantly better through the infusion of more resources for recruitment and player development," says Ponce.
"The Bren brand is well-loved and it has proven itself in multiple leagues. While there is no shortage of raw talent in its roster, my hope is that our leadership can help propel them to go ever upward," he added.
Ponce's operations are supported by esteemed esports leaders, including Leo "Jab" Escutin, who has served as Bren's Chief Operating Officer since 2016, Jeff Victoriano, the Operations Manager since 2018, and Francis Glindro, who has been coaching the team since 2019.
Coach Francis "Duckeyyy" Glindro led the team during MPL Season 11, with the assistance of the new assistant coach Vrendon "Vren" Lin.
Prior to representing the Philippines in the 2023 SEA Games, the team emerged victorious in the M2 World Championships in 2021 and MPL Philippines Season 6 in 2020.
AP Bren is now actively scouting for talented players to join their roster, which currently includes Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel, David "FlapTzy" Canon, Marco "SUPER MARCO" Requitano, Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo, Michael "KyleTzy" Sayson, and Vincent "Pandora" Unigo, and aims to make a buzz in The Hive.
