The Meralco Bolts rallied in the second half to snag a 81-80 win against the Busan KCC Egis of South Korea on Wednesday, November 13, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Akil Mitchell registered 33 points and 22 rebounds while David Kennedy added 14 points for the second win of the Bolts in the 2024-2025 East Asia Super League.
At halftime, the the defending PBA Philippine Cup champions trailed by 11 points, 53-42.
In the final period, Mitchell completed a three-point play to tie the game, 75-all, but Heo Ung responded with a triple to give the lead back to the visitors.
Less than a minute left in the clock, Bong Quinto buried a three-point basket to bring the game to another deadlock, 80-all, before Mitchell split his charities, which proved enough for the Bolts to take the win.
Deonte Burton scored 26 points and Heo finished with 14 markers to lead the defending champions of the Korean Basketball League.
The Bolts will travel to South Korea in order to face Busan anew on December 18.
