The late Senator Rodolfo Biazon, who served as a congressman and chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), will be laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig.
Biazon, 88, passed away on June 12 after battling lung cancer and pneumonia.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed gratitude to those who continue to offer love, support, and prayers for his father through a Facebook post.
The wake for Biazon will be held from June 13 to 18 at Chapels 2, 3, and 4 of the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. Public viewing will be from 10 AM to 10 PM, with a daily Mass taking place at 7 PM.
On June 19, Biazon's remains will be brought to the Senate for a necrological service at 10 AM, followed by public viewing until 3 PM.
A final wake will then be held on the same day at the Holy Child Chapel in the Philippine Marines Headquarters, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
A viewing will commence at 5 PM, and a Holy Mass is scheduled for 8 AM on June 20.
Mayor Biazon revealed that his father was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2022 and received appropriate treatment.
However, he developed pneumonia twice this year, with the second bout being more severe, further weakening his lungs.
Muntinlupa City Administrator Allan Cachuela ordered all government offices, including the Muntinlupa City Hall, schools, and barangays, to fly their flags at half-mast as a sign of respect. The Muntinlupa City Council will also pass a resolution on June 13 to honor Biazon.
The funeral march for Biazon will commence at 11 AM on June 20, culminating in his burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
