The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport two foreign pedophiles, deemed undesirable aliens, who were arrested by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) during two separate operations in Pampanga and Taguig.
“They will be deported immediately and will be placed in our blacklist, banning them from re-entering the Philippines,” BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.
The first foreign national apprehended was a 76-year-old American citizen, known for frequent travel to the Philippines, who was arrested at Clark International Airport in Angeles City, Pampanga on October 16.
The suspect was arrested pursuant to a warrant from the 19th Judicial Court of Indian River County, Florida, where he has been charged with 55 offenses related to child pornography.
It was then revealed based on investigations that multiple child sex abuse materials, including nude pictures of Filipino children, were found on the mobile phone in his possession.
He is charged with deportation by the BI, yet will remain in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as further charges are being pursued against him.
The second suspect arrested is a 50-year-old British national, who was taken into custody while trying to extend his tourist visa.
He is listed as a registered sex offender due to convictions in the United Kingdom in 1994 and 2002 for multiple sexual offenses, which include indecent assault involving minors.
Following his arrest by the bureau's officers, he was transferred to the Bureau of Immigration's facility in Bicutan, Taguig.
