After a four-percent drop in the latest Pulse Asia survey, the camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is urging its supporters to refrain from complacency ahead of the elections.
Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the camp's spokesperson, said their goal of reaching 70% in the pre-election polls remains alive weeks before the elections.
"We entreat our supporters, volunteers, and campaigners to refrain from complacency and remain focus in achieving our common target of 70% presidential preference mark," Rodriguez said in a statement.
"We shall not rest until the 70% preference survey polls position is attained, until every vote is counted, and the aspirations of the Filipino people become a reality," he added.
Rodriquez was commenting on the latest Pulse Asia survey, which revealed a 56% preference rating for Marcos Jr.
This is a four-percent drop for the former senator, but he still enjoyed the frontrunner status for the upcoming elections.
"We acknowledge the overwhelming support of the people as the Pulse Asia survey results clearly show, but the challenge to make history shall remain kindled until election day, and even beyond," Rodriguez said.
Meanwhile, Marcos' rival Vice President Leni Robredo saw a nine-percent increase in Pulse Asia's pre-election survey, bringing her support ratings to 24%.
Atty. Barry Gutierrez, the spokesperson of Robredo's camp, said these numbers show Robredo's momentum, which they expect to further intensify until May 9.
